1.Review from Customer "Austin M":

"To be honest I was skeptical of Seek Outside hot tents when I first saw an Outside article about them. I had a hard time rationalizing why I should buy a camping shelter that cost so much. Over a few months of reading more about hot tenting I became convinced that a Cimarron would be an incredible shelter to own for winter ski trips, hunting trips and shoulder season camping trips. We picked up a 2 door with half liner and large u-turn stove in March. We quickly sold off our trusted Mountain hardware Trango 2 that we used for winter camping. Running the tent with stove in spring, fall and winter has really changed our experience for the better making camping something that is enjoyable instead of something that you kinda just suffer through once the sun goes down. Even in bad weather being in the Cimarron is pleasant for 2 and I have no doubt it will withstand a beating in the worst weather. The material and craftsmanship is top notch and surpasses what I have experienced from other tent makers. The attention to detail and features of this shelter are incredibly well thought out and make it a fantastic shelter for 2.
What I didn't expect when we purchased the tent was for us to like the shelter so much that it would replace our summer tents too with the versatility of the different options you can run inside. This fall we sold off our roof top tent that we use on overlanding/ car camping type trips and will be buying a full nest to run the cimmarron instead. Paired with the right double mattress I thinks its a superior shelter in every season. Sets up really quick, weather worthy, spacious, doesn't stay on your car all summer and our dog can join us more easily. Had I thought about it as such a versatile piece of equipment instead of just a hot tent for fall, spring and winter trips I would have gone for the 1 door version with screen or the lighter Dyneema version and had no reservations about selling off my backpacking tent too and running it as a 1 tent quiver. With the Cimmarron we have now with a half nest its only ~10 ounces more than our backpacking tent (Tarp Tent Stratospire 2) and would increase our useable floor space significantly. This tent has really changed the way I look at camping shelters and what I should expect out of them. I expect many more shelters from Seek Outside as our needs change in the future."

2.Review from Customer "Scott H":

"Love my Cimarron with half nest. I find this shelter really versatile due to the modular options. I can use it floorless, with the half nest, or have the stove option. This makes it pretty much a year round shelter option. It is a palace for one, plenty for two plus gear. I'm also looking forward to getting a full nest. For the pole, I use my trekking poles and join them together using about a ten inch piece of one inch climbing webbing with a piece of grosgrain sewn into a loop on the webbing. I stuff each trekking pole tip in each end of the webbing, lean them parallel to each other, and use a chord that's attached to the grosgrain loop and wrap it around the trekking poles to bind it all together. Then insert, and adjust length of trekking pole. This is a nice option for me.
I also love that it's made in the USA and is a very well sewn product."

3.Review from Customer "Ryan E":

"I was able to get out for a solo backcountry hiking adventure within the porcupine mountain state park in Michigan’s upper peninsula this past weekend to test out my new cimarron with half nest. Given it was mid June in Michigan’s wilderness the bugs were out in full force. The products performed flawlessly and kept me dry and big free. It rained one entire day and the bugs were something I honestly couldn’t begin to describe. The added weight of the nest was worth every once because without it this trip couldn’t have happened. Aside from the nest the tent packed down really small when stuffed in my pack and is feather light. It set up very quickly. I had set it up a few times prior to my trip so I never even had to adjust a stake when pitching it. I had planned to use my trecking poles for the tent pile but given the tent would be up for a couple nights I opted to just cut a stick to length which also worked flawlessly to pitch the tent. Takedown was extremely fast and simple. All around I love the product. When using this tent in Michigan I will likely always be packing the nest but for western hunts I’m thinking the nest will not be necessary. Without the nest I think things could be arranged in such a way to allow 2 for sure, if not three with a stove and gear. It would be tight with three but if you were clever about it I’m thinking it’s doable. Love the product and would recommend it to anyone."

4.Review from Customer "McCloud":

"Im on year 4 of owning a cimmaron and it’s converted me from standard tents. I use it primarily in south east Alaska for hunting and while guiding hunts. It’s light weight enough that I’ve used it solo on sheep and mountain goat hunts. It’s lager enough that on guided hunts it’s used as the mountain cook tent for up to four guys to get out of the rain in the evening.
The nest and the large stove are both great additions but I don’t end up using them a lot. Mosquitoes and the likes are a truly a non issue as they seem to get stuck at the top of the tent so the nest only gets used when going with someone who’s completely apposed to the floor-less idea. The stove only sees use early season camping because gathering wood and starting fires on a rainy mountain is just a pain and not always worth it to me.
Condensation is only a real problem when it’s windy enough to nock the droplets off showering the inside of the tent. Thats the only con on my list but the nest will fix this issue if you’re willing to pack the weight.
I changed out the 4 corner steaks to the large spiraled ones. This has been a help in soft ground, but even before that change the tent has held up in high winds extremely well.
I could continue to list other things I like about the cimmaron but I’ll stop to keep this review length reasonable."

5.Review from Customer "Customer":

"We bought the Cimmaron 1 year ago, and have camped numerous times with it since. We use it as extra tent for the children next to a Tentipi on campsites in Europe, and as backpacking tent in the mountains. We use a Seek Outside stove in the tipi, but not in the Cimmaron yet. The tent is very spacious and fits all 4 of us, although I found the use in the mountains with 2-3 persons optimal.
The children love the tent, especially with the inner tent that we bouht from a 3rd party vendor. We have the half-nest as well, but the mesh fabric does not “protect†the sleeping area as well as an enclosed inner tent made of 20D nylon (kids are 11 and 9). We wrap LED Christmas lights around the center pole (with small battery pack).
While backpacking in the mountains (this year Valdostana, Italy), the tent performs well. It is lightweight (we do not take the inner), especially with the use of two walking sticks as center pole. It pitches very easily on uneven terrain, and the fact that it opens up completely is great in the morning.
Without a stove and without an inner tent, condensation is a bit of problem in wet conditions. There is not much you can do about it, except for using an inner tent (completely solves it) or stove. We also pitched the tent high off the ground as recommended, but that does not really solve condensation. However, every nylon outer-tent will condensate on the inside. In the mountains we just made sure that nobody lay against the tent fabric, and the wind at sunrise dried the tent completely. In very wet conditions I would take the inner tent (at the expense of adding 800gr to the backpack), or stove (although wood at 2500m is difficult to find in Europe ...).
All-in-all a great, versatile tent that we love for backpacking and the children love it for the amount of space inside and the extremely cosy experience of sleeping in a tipi with Christmas lights."

6.Review from Customer "Nicholas S":

"I looked at the Seek Outside tents for almost two years before making the purchase. I did a lot of research before I purchased - financially its an investment. I looked at many different tents on the market and I am the owner of a MSR Hubba Hubba 2person W/ gear shed and MSR Hubba Solo NX.
I wanted something that was more versatile and that I could winter camp with. Most hot tents were big and bulky and this allowed for a lightweight summer shelter and winter hot tent in one. I opted out of the sewed in screens and purchased the half nest as the screens are not necessary for winter camping but still wanted a total bug protection shelter for summer. The half nest can also be easily pitched as a bug out shelter without the Cimmaron and the Cimmeron shelter could be easily pitched if you were on the go during a storm. I also purchased ground tarp to have a ground barrier - this is the first groundless tent that I have owed, which made me uneasy about purchasing it. I feel more comfortable though having purchased both the half nest "it has a two in rise on its ground material" and a ground tarp. I have not been in a storm with it where the rain fall exceeds the ground absorption nor have I had it in 50+ winds.
I went with the Cimmaron as it was noted as being a bit more weather worthy, a smaller profile, pitched in a rectangle ground profile and lighter than the full four person tipi by Seek Outside.
How I use it - I primarily do remote canoe camping, remote backpacking, most of the camping I do there are no campsites. Camping in the Midwest and Southwest primarily. Trips exceeding 10+days.
Notes
-Packs down small and is lightweight
-Al A Cart add ons: half nest, ground tarp, half liner, full liner, stove, shelter gate keeper straps and various tent stakes. Making this tent one of the most versatile tents on the market. Rather than having multiple tents for different situations.
- Light enough for roomy soloing, two person plus room for gear, four 'Adults' person would be pushing comfort although doable, two adults two kids would be fine.
-Could easily be set up to get out of rain while on the go.
-Purchased in the Brown color, light does come through the material and the light has a nice amber glow. I find green tents and tarps makes people look sickly.
-Room to move around and stand. I'm 5,9.
-Room enough for a half nest plus two backpack camp chairs. Which is great when its raining and you want to hang out in the tent.
Seam Sealing
I had no idea how to do this. After having done it I would say practice on a cheap older tent that you have then move on to the new one. My first couple seams where a bit thick and realized you really don't need that much seam sealing material while seam sealing. The rest of it turned out great though. I watched the tutorial before I did the work.

I did not purchase the Hot Tent Bundle, I've purchased everything independently. I also waited for purchases through the Factory Blemish sales."

7.Review from Customer "David":

"Dear Seek Outside
After spending 6 nights in remote camp locations across Montana's well known mountain ranges relying on our newly purchased “Cimarron†Seek Outside tent.
Second week in September we left the trail head and started up the mountain. At 8,500 ft elevations we battled day time temps in the 80’s and night tempts low 20’s. Following the elk we set camp in 3 different locations.
With over a Million acres burned from MT wildfires September 13, 2017 delivered answered prayers state wide with cold tempts, no wind, and up to 24 inches of snow fall in the high country. Knowing we had one day left to kill a bull we had been after all week we stayed after it. Arriving back to camp soaked head to toe we were very surprised to see our tent did not let in an ounce of water and we had a dry place to warm up. Being 9.5 miles into the high country, we packed our camp at 12am September 14 and hiked out through the night.
After all we are very satisfied in this product. I found packing a light weight tarp for the floor saved us the last day/night when the weather came in. We used sticks and rocks to roll the edges of the tarp creating a 4†lip on the high side of the tent to avoid water from running into our tent. Also utilizing the existing terrain, mounding dirt and debris around the walls of the tent to force run off water away.
I Would recommend the “Cimarron†for any of your backcountry camping needs.
Thank you,
Matt and David
Montana Residents"

8.Review from Customer "Everett V":

"Bought my Cimarron last summer (2018) in preparation for a late-season elk hunt. The tent came quickly, and I practiced setting it up in the backyard a couple of times. That was helpful, as it takes a little practice to get good at it. The elk hunt rolled around, and my hunting buddy and I headed out for three nights in northern Colorado. First two nights were calm and very cold; fourth night it snowed and blew all night long. Regardless of the weather, the tent stood strong. The titanium stove kept it toasty inside (as long as we were feeding it), and we slept and ate in comfort. The tent had plenty of room (tons of it!) for gear, guns, beds, stove and a huge pile of firewood. I doubt we could have hacked that trip without the tent!
Fast forward 8 months. I bought my brother a blem version of the Cimarron. I couldn't figure out what constituted the blemish, and it set up just as well as my non-blem. This was on a summer backpacking trip in the Mt. Evans Wilderness. It rained like the dickens and there were approximately 1 brazillion mosquitoes. We made sure the sod flaps were against the ground, and the tent kept us dry and mosquito free. No stove was necessary, but his has a stove jack too.
Anyway, these things are the bees knees. I'd recommend to any backcountry hunter or camper. It'll keep you dry, it'll keep you warm, it'll keep you happy, and it won't weigh your pack down. What else can you ask for?"

9.Review from Customer "Alan L":

"First off,
The Cimarron is one nice shelter. Although I havent had a chance to test in the backcountry it looks like it will really do the trick. Had it in some substantial winds in the yard and even pitched slightly above the ground it held solid as a rock. Lots of options when pitching the shelter if you add the line locs and take time to figure out how you want it. Looks to have plenty of room for two and some gear along with a stove. I am really excited to get a chance to use this on all my future adventures. I really like that I can roll the doors halfway and glass from sitting inside if Mother Nature isn’t wanting to cooperate.
I usually don’t write reviews but I am really impressed with Seek Outside. When I recieved my shelter it was exactly what I expected. Quality stitching, smooth zippers, and top notch product. The first time I pitched it I was really blown away. After inspecting it like everything I purchase I noticed I had received a shelter that had a small blemish in the fabric. I reached out to them that evening via email (it was a Sunday). The next morning shortly after they opened I was contacted about the issue. The conversation began with an apology that had a level of sincerity that isn’t common when it comes to dealing with companies. I was asked how I would like it resolved and after a brief conversation it was settled. I sent my original back in a box they paid for me to ship and in less than a week I had a new, top quality replacement built exactly like the one I ordered. I didn’t need the replacement that quickly but they made it a priority to make me a satisfied customer. Sure you can spend more other places but Seek Outside delivers. Simple fact is everything they do is quality from manufacturing to customer service.
Thanks Seek Outside."

10.Review from Customer "Joel Z":

"Used this on a Colorado elk hunt in October. Cool dry weather. Tons of space. Crazy easy to set up. Used medium size Seek Ti stove to great effect. Weight of this tent AND stove was equal to the old 1.5 man tent I was using. Condensation will be an issue so plan accordingly. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a tent like this."

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Seek Outside Cimarron receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from customers who value its spacious interior, durability, and weather resistance. While it may be slightly heavier than other options, it offers a level of comfort and protection that’s hard to beat for those who prioritize shelter reliability in extreme conditions. Whether you're planning a backcountry camping trip or a base camp adventure, the Seek Outside Cimarron is a tent worth considering for your outdoor gear collection.
